Fortress wall collapse kills a man in Bandung

Foundation on Jl. Tera, Bandung, West Java, was killed when a 50-meter long fortress’
wall collapsed on him on Saturday afternoon.
Local residents said that Maryadi and his wife used to
take a rest and cleaning their collected goods in a gutter near the fortress,
Tempointeraktif.com reported.
“We were taking a rest near the fortress when its wall
suddenly collapsing. I managed to runaway, but my husband didn’t,” said Evi,
60, Maryadi’s wife.
Kota Sumur of Bandung Police head Adj. Comr. Bodhy Widodo
said that water abrasion had allegedly caused the collapsing fortress wall. “It
was purely an accident,” he added.
