22 missing in East Nusa Tenggara boat accident

As many as 22 passengers have been missing after a motorboat sank near Palue island, East Nusa Tenggara.

The search and rescue  (SAR) team, however, managed to rescue 44 other passengers.

The Karya Terang motor boat reportedly was heading from Palue island to Maumere on Friday at 3 p.m., but a  three-meter high wave hit it, causing an engine failure, and made the boat to sink.
 
"The SAR team has rescued 44 passengers, 36 of them have been brought to Maumere, and the other eight ot Palue island. We have yet to find the rest," East Nusa Tenggara SAR team head Herman da Gomes, said.
