A search continued on Monday for two brothers feared buried in a landslide on Mount Erese in Gowa regency, South Sulawesi.
Tonrorita village chief Syahruddin Matta told The Jakarta Post that Muis bin Saleh, 22, and Paris bin Saleh, 18, were working in their fields when the landslide hit the area after heavy rains on Sunday afternoon.
Local residents began searching for the brothers immediately after the landslide hit, initially working to gain access to the landslide-hit area, Matta said.
Gowa administration deployed search teams to help on Monday. The administration also sent in heavy machinery, but was not expected to reach the landslide area quickly because access roads were also damaged.
