BTN net profi t increases 84 percent in third quarter

Indonesia’s no. 10 lender, Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN), said Monday its net profi t had climbed 84.26 percent to September of this year, to Rp 597 billion from Rp 324 billion in the same period of last year.
BTN, which focused on housing loans, disbursed Rp 49.18 trillion up to the period ending September 30,
a 29 percent increase compared to the same period last year at Rp 38.12 trillion. Meanwhile, its deposits
grew by about 28 percent to Rp 43.03 trillion from Rp 33.72 trillion.
The bank’s gross non performing loan (NPL) stood at 3.48 percent up to the third quarter of this year, and the lender’s president director Iqbal Latanro told reporters that BTN management would keep lending growth in a manageable range so that potential growth in NPL could be eliminated.
BTN assets reached Rp 63.5 trillion and is capital adequacy ratio (CAR) stood at 16.99 percent up to
the third quarter of this year. — JP/est
