Five officers dead in Papua airplane crash

The police said Thursday that five dead bodies of police officers had been found and evacuated from the crash site of a police Skytruck plane in Nabire regency in Papua.
Papua Police spokesman Wachyono said that the remains were taken to Nabire City.
The plane had an accident in Wami area in Wanggar district on a flight from Ambon, Maluku, to Jayapura, Papua, on Wednesday afternoon.
A witness, Melky Yarayomi (30), told Antara that the plane was in the middle of an emergency landing on the coast of Wami village, when it hit trees and crashed.
The plane was being used to transport aid to flood-hit Wasior area in West Papua.
