Letter: Condolences for Indonesian victims

Michele and I are deeply saddened by the loss of life, injuries, and damage that have occurred as a result of the recent earthquake and tsunami in West Sumatra. 
At the same time, I am heartened and encouraged by the remarkable resiliency of the Indonesian people and the commitment of their Government to rapidly assist the victims. 
Meanwhile, our thoughts and prayers are with the Indonesian people and all those affected by this tragedy.

I am deeply saddened to hear that there were so many people who suffered and were killed by an earthquake on Oct. 25 in Mentawai, West Sumatra, and the Mount Merapi eruption on Oct. 26 in Yogyakarta.
From the bottom of my heart, I convey my condolences to the families of the people who were killed and pray for the injured victims to immediately recover.

On Oct. 26, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev sent a telegram in regards to the earthquake and tsunami that claimed numerous lives and caused significant damage.
In his telegram the Russian President expressed his heartfelt sympathy. He underscored that he shares the pain and grief of the Indonesian nation and asked that his condolences be conveyed to the families of those who lost their lives and wishes of quick recovery to the injured.
