President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's special staff on social assistance and disaster prevention Andi
Arief says that Marzuki Alie, the House of Representatives speaker, must stop defending himself from
the public who deem him as insensitive towards the Mentawai tsunami victims.
"Marzuki Alie apologize immediately, so we can all concentrate to save people, not commenting on
comments!" Andi said in his twitter account, @AndiAriefNew, on Friday.
Marzuki has been receiving condemnation for his comment saying that Mentawai people had put
themselves in the risk of tsunami by living nearby the sea.
Furthermore, Marzuki, who is a House of Representatives speaker, also said that legislators had more
important foreign trips to conduct than to visit disaster victims.
