Govt to relocate tsunami victims, residents of Mentawai beaches

The central government has planned to immediately relocate
victims of a recent earthquake-triggered tsunami as well as residents living near
Mentawai beaches of West Sumatra.
“The relocation plan is a direct order from the
President. He will soon make it official by issuing a regulation,” West Sumatra
Governor Irwan Prayitno said Saturday as quoted by Kompas.com.
Following to the Monday’s earthquake-triggered tsunami,
which death toll passes 400, the government is preparing the construction of about
4,000 shelter houses in highland area that closes to hills.
