Turkish media are reporting that an explosion in
Istanbul's main square has injured some 15 people.
The private Dogan news agency reported the figure and said the
explosion occurred Sunday close to a spot where riot police were
stationed in case of demonstrations.
NVT television said the explosion may have been caused by a
suicide bomber.
Witness Veysel Surmeli told CNN-Turk television that police
cordoned off the area. Ambulances had arrived on the scene and
medics were attending some of the injured.
