Jakarta to propose Rp 27.95 trillion for 2011 budget

Top officials of the Jakarta administration announced Wednesday they would proposed Rp 27.95 trillion (US$3.1 billion) to the City Council for 2011 city budget .
Governor Fauzi Bowo said the proposed budget would see an increase of 5 percent from the 2010 revised budget.
“Education will still take the lion share of the budget. We propose over Rp 1 trillion for the education operational aid (BOP) alone,” he said on Wednesday.
This year, education gets some 27 percent of Rp 26.7 trillion of revised budget.
