Police beef up security ahead of Obama’s visit

JAKARTA: The Jakarta Police are ready to safeguard the state visit of US President Barrack Obama from Nov. 9 to Nov. 10, a police spokesman says.
“We have prepared resources needed to protect activities during the visit,” Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Boy Rafli Amar said.
“We will specifically focus on safeguarding the routes the presidential detail will take.”
President Obama’s Asia tour will take him to India first, then Indonesia and finally South Korea and Japan. In Jakarta, he is scheduled to visit the State Palace, Kalibata Heroes Cemetery and Istiqlal Grand Mosque. — JP
