Govt pledges Rp 150 billion for disaster victims

The government is ready to disburse Rp
150 billion (US$16.8 million) to help disaster victims, the Finance
Ministry’s director general of the treasury Herry
Purnomo said
“I have issued a budget
implementation document. The fund will be managed through the
National Disaster Management Agency [BNPB],” Herry said on Monday.
The House of Representatives has
approved the budget request, Herry added.
The fund is separate from the
post-disaster rehabilitation program, with a budget of more than Rp
3.5 trillion.
The government has allocated
approximately Rp 4 trillion for disaster management.
