Presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin
Pasha told a press conference Monday that it still had not been
decided whether or not the President would attend the two meetings.
Yudhoyono was earlier scheduled to
leave Indonesia for South Korea on Wednesday and return from Japan
early next week, but last week’s major eruptions at Mount Merapi
have apparently forced the President to re-think the plan.
“We’re still monitoring
developments at Merapi. It has not yet been decided whether the
President will attend the meetings,” Julian said.
“However, considering the importance
of the two summits, we will surely send persons. Maybe this will be
delegated to the Vice President, accompanied by a number of relevant
ministers,” he added.
