JAKARTA: Bank Danamon Indonesia, the nation’s sixth-largest bank by assets, is set to issue bonds worth up to Rp 2 trillion (US$224 million), with yields of between 8.25 percent and 9 percent, a top executive said.

Danamon president director Henry Ho said the bonds would have two series that would mature after between three and five years. “The bonds will be launched in the first week of December,” he said.

Henry added that the three-year bonds would carry a coupon with a yield of between 8.25 and 8.75 percent per annum, while the five-year bonds would offer a return of between 8.5 and 9 percent per annum.

The nation’s rating agency Pefindo has rated the bonds idAA+ with a stable outlook.

Danareksa Sekuritas, Indo Premier Securities, Kresna Graha Sekurindo and Standard Chartered Securities Indonesia have been appointed underwriters for the bond issuance. Henry said proceeds from the bond issuance would be used to fund loans for small- and medium-scale enterprises. — JP
