The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed it has identified one suspect in a long-standing graft case involving markups in the procurement of fire trucks by the Batam Authority in 2004.
KPK spokesman Johan Budi said the suspect, who he did not name, was a former House of Representatives (DPR) member from 2004 who allegedly received Rp 1 billion (US$ 112,000) from the Batam Authority in the case.
“He allegedly received Rp 1 billion to release funds [for the firetrucks] to the Batam Authority from 2004 to 2005,” he said. (ina/gzl)
