DENPASAR: Governor Made Mangku Pastika has left on a trip to South Korea and Japan as part of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s entourage that will attend the G20 and Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings this week.
Bali government spokesman Ketut Teneng said Pastika would promote Bali as a tourist destination and as the first green province in Indonesia.
The government has faced fierce criticism lately for spending too much money on overseas junkets.
“He [Pastika] will explain our environmental programs to the international world,” Teneng said. — JP
