Annual franchise and license expo kicks off

The 8th Franchise and License Indonesia Expo featuring 165 domestic as well as overseas brands kicked off on Friday at the Assembly Hall of the Jakarta Convention Center in Central Jakarta. 

 The expo was officially opened by director-general of domestic trade with the Trade Ministry Subagyo.

Indonesian Franchise and License Association chairwoman Levita Supit said that the 2010 expo witnessed an increasing number of participants from only 125 last year to 165 participants this year.

“We hope that more than 15,000 visitors will come to the expo,” she said.

Levita added that the franchise businesses still meet warm responses from both the franchisers and the potential franchisees.

She quoted a recent survey which showed that the business was projected to absorb around 1.2 million workers with total sales of Rp 100 trillion this year. (lnd)
