BPS to announce unemployment rate in December

The Central Statistic Agency (BPS) has said it would
announce Indonesia’s unemployment rate in December.
The new jobless figure was made based on data
complied through August, BPS director Wendy Hartanto said Saturday without
proving further detail on the issue.
Wendy said that in February this year BPS released a
report stating that Indonesia’s unemployment figure dropped to 7.41 percent
from 7.87 percent in August 2009.
“The decline in the unemployment rate does not
necessarily follow the increase of economic growth,” he said, as quoted by kontan.co.id
