The Foreign Ministry has obliged seven travel agencies to pay a total of Rp 1.5 billion (US$165,000) to reimburse the state for charging marked up prices for state overseas trips.
The seven agencies are Sheila Tour, Pan Travel, Anugrah Travel, Bimatama Tour, PT Indowanua Inti Sentosa, PT Kintamani and PT Laser.
“We are compelled to pay,” Sheila Tour’s Efi F said as quoted by Kompas.com on Tuesday in the trial of former Foreign Ministry treasurer Ade Wismar Wijaya. “The instruction was issued by Insp. Gen. Diene [S. Muharjo] at that time.”
