President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono opened Tuesday a conference and exhibition aimed at conserving coastal forests and empowering their communities.

The event, held at the Forestry Ministry's Manggala Wanabhakti building, was organized by 2010 Women's Movement to Plant and Conserve initiated by First Lady Ani Kristianti and her Cabinet ministers' wives forum.

Vice President Boediono was scheduled to attend a meeting on accelerating development in Papua and West Papua provinces, before receiving an Indonesian delegation that will attend an interfaith dialogue in the United States.
