Govt collects trillions in taxes

The Directorate General of Taxation has collected Rp 514.2 trillion (US$ 57.6 billion) in tax revenue – 78 percent of its annual goal.
The government aimed to collect Rp 661.5 trillion in taxes this year.
Director General of Taxation Mochammad Tjiptardjo said the tax office remains optimistic that they will meet their target.
“We still have one and a half months to collect taxes,” Mochammad said on Thursday.
The government will increase the target tax revenue by 12 percent for next year.
