The actions of graft suspect Gayus Tambunan will be reconstructed in Cempaka Mas, Central Jakarta, by a team of investigators, Gayus' lawyer Indra Kusnadi said Thursday.
“[I am now] heading to the location of the reconstruction,” Indra said in a telephone interview.
He confirmed that he was heading to the Cempaka Mas location by car and was following the investigators' car that was transporting Gayus as instructed.
According to Indra, the reconstruction was related to charges that Gayus had acted improperly when handling several clients’ tax complaints.
Gayus, who is suspected of fraudulently amassing around Rp 90 billion, arrived at the National Police Headquarters at around 11 a.m. and left for Cempaka Mas with the investigators at about 4 p.m.
“Gayus wasn't questioned; he was just waiting for the reconstruction. However, other witnesses were questioned,” Indra said.
He added that the witnesses were asked to participate in the reconstruction. “It wasn't obligatory. They could refuse, in which case their roles could be played by replacements in the reconstruction.”
