JAKARTA: Two books on law enforcement statistics were launched Tuesday to provide a better map on the condition of the Indonesian judicial system in supporting a better and more transparent judicial system
AKARTA: Two books on law enforcement statistics were launched Tuesday to provide a better map on the condition of the Indonesian judicial system in supporting a better and more transparent judicial system.
“The books, Law Enforcement Statistics 2007 and Law Enforcement Statistics 2008, gave a better map on law enforcement institutions’ conditions and provided some kind of monitoring mechanism,” Astriyani from the Judicial Data Center said at the opening ceremony of the event.
She said the lack of availability of reliable statistical judiciary data had hampered transparency of the judicial process and the books would open public access to judicial information.
The Judicial Data Center worked together with the National Development Planning Ministry and the Indonesia-Netherlands National Legal Reform Program, in publishing the two books.
The books disclosed nation-wide facts and statistics on the execution of duties and authority of the courts, Attorney General’s Office and Corruption Eradication Commission. These include cases and investigations, as well as public complaint cases against them. The books also showed statistics on their human resources. — JP
