Thousands of people gathered at the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle in Jakarta on Sunday to mark World AIDS Day.
The event, which began at 7 a.m., featured events such as traditional dances and presentations on HIV/AIDS.
Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo said that the AIDS campaign could be considered a success if people understood more about the danger of AIDS.
“The Jakarta administration cannot do this campaign alone. We need everyone to do it together,” he said as quoted by kompas.com.
