Crowd gathers at Adrie’s house for Maroon 5 tickets

JAKARTA: Local music promoter Adrie Subono received thousands of guests at his house in Pondok Indah, South Jakarta, Sunday.
But they were no ordinary guests. They came with the intent of getting tickets for the upcoming concert of top US rock band Maroon 5 in Jakarta in April.
Fans started lining up at Adrie’s house at 6 a.m. and within four hours, the crowd numbered 1,200.
“The queue number has reached 1,200. We’ve had to stop the line so we can check the ticket stocks,” Adrie said as quoted by detikhot.com Sunday.
Adrie limited purchases to four tickets per person to give others a chance to buy tickets.
Tickets are selling for Rp 600,000 (US$66.60) to Rp 800,000.
Sunday’s occurrence was a result of an announcement Adrie made on his Twitter account offering pre-sale tickets for die-hard fans.
The owner of the Java Musikindo said his company had prepared 6,500 tickets to be sold for the concert, touted as one of the biggest in 2011. — JP
