The National Police says it is having trouble investigating Gayus H. Tambunan’s graft case because Gayus claims he cannot remember where he got cash and gold amounting to Rp 74 billion (US$8.2 million).
Gayus said he “forgot” where he got the cash and gold that was stored in his safety deposit box.
“The police, in cooperation with the bank, cannot track the flow of funds, especially in the form of cash. When asked by prosecutors, Gayus claimed he forgot where the money came from,” Insp. Gen. Iskandar Hasan said Wednesday.
The police suspect the Rp 74 billion might be the result of bribes Gayus received as part of his former position at the tax office. One of Gayus’ lawyers, Pia Nasution, confirmed that Gayus is still insisting that he forgot where the money came from.
Your comments:
This fool makes a mockery of Indonesia. If he forgot where he got the money from, just give it to the government until he remembers. Gayus is a thief. Lock him up and stone him in public. Tomorrow he will say he is too sick to go to court just like Soeharto did and the other corrupt fools.

The first thing that anyone does after becoming a suspect is to lose their memory.
Must be a medical name for this syndrome…

Let him prove where he got it from. Take his money, which was undoubtedly gained from massive bribes.
When he proves his innocence, give it back to him!
For Gayus, in his opinion, it was probably still worth it; he is rich. If there are no repercussions it will simply continue.

Have you tried water boarding him yet? I heard it’s effective in making people remember “things” they don’t remember.

The only reason he would forget where the money came from was if he has Alzheimer’s, and I highly doubt he has Alzheimer’s.
He knows where he got it from. He is just playing stupid. Why don’t they have him take a lie detector test?
That should resolve it.
