JAMBI: Around 55.43 percent of 253,293 children mature enough to join play groups or kindergartens have not been registered at such facilities in Jambi province.
“There are many others who cannot access adequate education services,” Jambi Education Office chief Idham Kholid said.
At the national level the number of children receiving schooling in play groups and kindergartens averaged 53 percent, Kholid said.
The government will enhance cooperation with the Family Welfare Program (PKK) in order to raise the figure to 75 percent by the year 2015, he said.
“The cooperation with PKK will be intensified because PKK has networks that reach villages,” he said. — JP
