Letter: Against domestic violence

Congratulations to Maia Estianty for her appointment as ambassador against domestic violence.
It is absolutely preposterous that her ex-husband, rock-star Ahmad
Dhani, plans to issue a legal warning accusing her of slander, saying
that her appointment makes her look like a victim physically and
emotionally.
Dhani has misinterpreted the whole situation. He should genuinely
congratulate his former wife that she is now spearheading the movement
that protects abused women and children.
By opposing her appointment and threatening to take legal action against
the Legal Aid Institute and the Women’s Empowerment and Children’s
Protection Ministry, he is just showing the public that there may be
some truth in the fact that he physically and emotionally abused her.
His actions show the public just how shallow he really is.
Me thinks the man doth protest too much! If the shoe fits Mr. Dhani — put it on!
