Indonesia's local organizing committee has reaped Rp 8.06
billion in revenue from ASEAN Football Federation Cup Group A ticket sales, on
the back of strong attendance numbers.
The committee stated that 35,000 tickets were sold for the
Indonesia-Malaysia match, which ended 5-1. That number rose to 50,000 and
65,000 in the next matches, in which Indonesia beat Laos 6-0 and Thailand 2-1.
The Indonesian committee chairman, Joko Driyono, said his
committee had not calculated the total cost of organizing the matches.
“We will finish calculating the total spending today. We
hope that the revenue is higher than the expenses,” he said as quoted by
Tribunnews news portal on Thursday.
Joko said the committee planned to raise ticket prices for
the quarterfinal matches.
However, he added, the plan was still being discussed with
the AFF Cup organizers and commercial partners, he said.
