ndonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) ranked Banten province as 15th in a list of the country’s most corrupt provinces in a statement released Thursday, .
“Banten ranked 15th in the list of most corrupt provinces,” ICW coordinator Ade Irawan said.
Ade said corruption was rampant in Banten, to the point where the authorities could do little to curb it. He made the statement at a seminar on combating corruption in the province.
Anti-graft activist Sukardin, who organized the seminar held in conjunction with Anti-Corruption Day, said the seminar was organized as part of a campaign to combat corruption.
“We hope businessmen and bureaucrats in Banten province and Tangerang regency can work together to develop regions that are free from corruption,” he said.
