Madania soccer tourney kicks off Saturday

Sekolah Madania private school will host its fourth Madania Soccer Tournament (Master 2010) over the weekend involving more than 400 students from Greater Jakarta.

The 2-day event will provide bouts for five age categories including three categories for elementary school, one category for each junior high school and senior high school with the number of participants in every age group limited to six.

Several schools in Greater Jakarta, including defending champion Al Izhar of Jakarta; An Nissa of Tangerang; At Taufiq and Bogor Raya of Bogor; Global Mandiri and Pilar of Cibubur, East Jakarta; and Mentari of Cipete, South Jakarta, and host Madania, are scheduled to participate in the event, which will be held at Telaga Kahuripan, Bogor in West Java.

Some charity initiatives have also been prepared by the organizers to help victims of Mt. Merapi’s eruption in Yogyakarta and Central Java as well as flash floods in Wasior, Papua, and the tsunami in Mentawai, West Sumatra.
