found dead

Alfrets Mirulewan, chief editor of Pelangi weekly in Maluku, was found dead with bruises to a large percentage of his body Thursday evening.

Alfrets's body was discovered by locals at the beach of Kisar Island.

"He was covering the regental election of West Maluku recently," coordinator of the Maluku Media Center, Insany Syahbarwaty, was quoted by tempointeraktif.com as saying Friday.

Insany said that Alfrets's body was taken by the police for an autopsy at Kisar Public Health Clinic.

"Police are still investigating the cause of his death," Insany said.

Alfrets Mirulewan, 28, is survived by a wife and one daughter.
