JAKARTA: State airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II says passenger numbers over the holiday period at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport will increase 15 percent to 1.93 million from 1.67 million during the same period last year.

“The growth will be 15 percent,” Angkasa Pura president director Tri Sunoko said on Tuesday, adding that the airport was prepared to handle the increase.

“We have upgraded our uninterrupted power supply [UPS] and electricity generator to anticipate an electricity shortage and added some ground handling support facilities,” Sunoko said.

Angkasa Pura has assigned 200 airport security officers for monitor, control and security posts at Terminal IB and 2E.

Angkasa Pura II said it had boosted its parking facilities to a total capacity of 7,946 vehicles. — JP
