The Public Works
Ministry announced that as of December, it had held 1,600 tenders
worth Rp 10.9 trillion (US$1.2 billion) for projects that will begin
in 2011.
“We tender the
projects through the website,” Public Works Ministry spokesperson
Danis Sumadilaga said Wednesday.
The Public Works
Ministry will have a budget of Rp 57.96 trillion next year, up from
Rp 37 trillion in 2010.
According to
Danis, this year the ministry implemented a presidential regulation
on procurement that forced provinces to use an e-procurement system
“Although the
government is giving provinces until 2014 to learn how to use the new
system, as many as 24 provinces have begun using the e-procurement
system,“ he said.
Danis said
the new system saved money.
“This
year we saved Rp 1.6 trillion,” he said.
