DENPASAR: As many as 110 traditional food vendors will participate in the upcoming 2010 Denpasar Festival. The annual celebration will take place Dec. 28-31.

“The traditional culinary bazaar is one of the festival’s core strengths. Fortunately, this year we will have strong participation from the city’s famed food stalls,” Denpasar trade and industry agency chief Wayan Gatra said.

The food stalls will serve traditional delicacies ranging from the popular betutu (spicy chicken/duck) to spicy fruit salad known as rujak.

“We will also organize a competition to select the best food stalls,” he said. — JP
