Kahitna to hold bronze concert in 2011

JP/Wendra Ajistyatama JAKARTA: The long-running band Kahitna will hold a concert in 2011 to celebrate its 25th year, frontman Yovie Widianto says.

Yovie added the concert would take place around May next year.

According to Yovie, the concert — which will recount the beginnings of Kahitna in 1986 — will feature musicians who collaborated and grew with the Bandung-origin band.

“We will also release a single on that day,” he said as quoted by detikhot.com. Yovie said they had prepared a new album which they would release early 2011.

Kahitna first arrived onto the Indonesian music scene in 1986. The band is known for its easy listening romantic catchy pop tunes, combined with jazz and ethnic music. — JP
