Banks to be obliged to announce lending rates in March

Up to 42 banks with assets of more
than Rp 10 trillion (Rp 1.1 billion) will be required by Bank Indonesia (BI) to
announce their lending rates in March next year, a senior BI official says.
BI Deputy Governor Muliaman D. Hadad
said banks must announce their lending rates via their websites.
“These rates would comprise corporate,
retail and consumer lending rates,” Muliaman said as quoted by kontan.co.id.
The exposure of the rates would
benefit customers and make banks more transparent.
