While state firms booked a combined increase in net profit this year, up to 17 state firms were still suffering huge losses, the State-Owned Enterprises Ministry reported Friday.
Some of the firms suffering losses were financing company PT Askrindo, ship builder PT PAL and PT Industri kapal Indonesia and paper company PT Kertas Kraft Aceh.
The 17 firms booked a total of Rp 700.6 billion (US$ 77.7 million) in losses.
However, the losses had declined compared to 2009, State-Owned Enterprises Minister Mustafa Abubakar said.
“At that time, up to 24 firms suffered losses worth Rp 1.7 trillion,” he said.
