JAMBI: The HIV/AIDS Commission (KPA) will vamp up its HIV/AIDS campaign by distributing condoms to eight centers in cities and regencies considered at-risk areas, an official says.
Jambi KPA official Ferdia Prakasa said they will distribute condoms to centers in Jambi, Bungo and West Tanjung Jabung regencies.
“Research findings in those cities and regencies found high rates of HIV/AIDS compared to other places,” Ferdia said.
The Jambi health agency reported 97 deaths from AIDS since figures began to be reported in 1999. Drug users accounted for 65 percent of the deaths. — JP
