Letter: Response from ANZ Bank

Following up on Sandy’s call to ANZ regarding her concerns about foreign
exchange discrepancy charges on her credit card, we have traced her
transaction and explained all the processes involved.
Similar to a transaction at a foreign exchange counter where there will
be a discrepancy between buy and sell rates, Sandy’s international
transaction using the ANZ Visa credit card also followed the applicable
Visa International exchange rate.
This caused a discrepancy when a transaction was cancelled. In our
investigation we also found the merchant wrongly charged Sandy for the
transaction.
Therefore, we have waived the currency rate difference for Sandy.
Sandy has accepted this solution and explanation. We thank her for her valuable feedback.
