Constitutional Court justice Akil Mochtar told news portal tribunnews.com he would report his assets to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday.

Akil said he last filed a report on his wealth in 2007 when he ran for the post of West Kalimantan governor, and not in 2002, as several media outlets reported.

In 2002, Akil's disclosed to the KPK that he had assets totaling more than Rp 3.4 billion.

“My wealth has remain unchanged since 2002. In fact, I am poorer now because I dipped into my funds to run for the West Kalimantan governor post,” Akil said.

He admitted, however, that he had not filed a wealth disclosure report since being appointed a Constitutional Court justice in 2008.

The KPK requires government officials to report their wealth when they first take up a post, when they are transferred from one post to another, when they are promoted, and when they retire.
