5.8 quake hits North Sulawesi

An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale shook the province of North Sulawesi on Saturday at 11:10 a.m., the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported.
The epicenter of the earthquake, according to the agency, was located 156 km southwest of Bitung at a depth of 30 kilometers. The coordinates were 0.05 North latitude and 125.00 East longitude, as reported by Antara.
The earthquake, which was felt up to 159 kilometers southeast of Manado and 221 kilometers southeast of Gorontalo, did not have the potential to cause a tsunami.
