Al Gore to speak on climate change in Jakarta

Former US vice president Al Gore is scheduled to speak at a climate change training session at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Sunday.
Gore was expected to join a 3-day training titled "The Climate Project Asia-Pacific Summit", organized by the National Council on Climate Change and the government's Cabinet secretariat, as reported by tempointeraktif.com news portal.
The nobel laureate was expected to discuss the slow pace of international negotiations on climate change mitigation and easy grassroots solutions for climate change phenomenon, according to organizers.
The summit marks the first time Gore has discussed climate change with audiences in Indonesia and the Asia Pacific region. Previously, Gore has spoken in Melbourne, Beijing and New Delhi.
The training was expected to be attended by 300 people from the region who were chosen from 1,200 candidates, according to tempointeraktif.com.
