Four Year Strong and Setting Our Goals in Jakarta

A- A A+

If things turn out as planned, people will remember the month of February clearly. Not only because of the Deftones, but also because the one and only Iron Maiden is scheduled to rock the city inside out on Feb. 17 before performing in front of a lucky audience in Bali the following night.

The Final Frontier World Tour 2011 in fact started on June 9, 2010, in Dallas, Texas, supporting the band’s 15th release entitled The Final Frontier. Led by Bruce Dickinson, the band will perform in Singapore first before Indonesia, leaving for Australia on Feb. 23 and hitting South Korea and Japan in March.

But let’s put our focus on the present, especially because January does seem to offer some of the best earthly goodness throughout.

Concert wise, Four Year Strong and Set Your Goals have confirmed to perform a duo concert live in front of fans in Jakarta on the evening of Jan. 19, 2011.

While Four Year Strong is a pop punk, melodic hardcore band, Set Your Goals has a similar type of music with a higher tendency to rock. The first band, formed in 2001, hails from Worcester, Massachusetts, while the later comes from the San Francisco Bay Area, formed in 2004.

Four Year Strong consists of vocalists Dan O’Connor, guitarists Alan Day, bassist Joe Weiss, keyboardist and back-up vocalist Josh Lyford and drummer Jackson Massucco. The band has released four studio albums so far with Enemy of the World released on March 9, 2010.

Widely known for the music made from 2004 onward, the band has had releases that date back as far as 2002 in their catalog. Their first official record was released in January 2005, entitled It’s Our Time, followed by Rise or Die Trying on Sept. 18, 2007 and a compilation of cover songs titled Explains It All on July 21, 2009.

Set Your Goals, on the other hand, consists of vocalists Matt Wilson and Jordan Brown, guitarists Audelio Flores Jr and Daniel Coddaire, bassist Joe Saucedo and drummer Michael Ambrose. The band’s name is derived from CIV’s 1995 release of the same name.

They have released two studio albums so far, namely Mutiny! on July 11, 2006 and This Will Be the Death of Us on July 21, 2009. The band stated on their Twitter account on Oct. 11, 2010, that they had begun recording a third album with producer Brian McTernan, expecting to release the new materials this year.

Together they will perform in the indoor tennis stadium at Senayan, Jakarta with tickets priced from Rp 350,000 to Rp 400,000. Visit http://javamusikindo.com immediately for tickets and who knows you may get a special pre-sale ticket from as low as Rp 200,000.
