Artalyta to be relased on Jan. 27: Minister

JAKARTA: Law and Human Rights Minister Patrialis Akbar said graft
convict Artalyta Suryani will be released on parole on Jan. 27.
It’s time for her to be relased regardles of remissions,” he said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Earlier, Patrialis said no parole had been granted for Artalyta. “The
directorate general for correctional facilities has not decided
anything,” Patrialis said as quoted by kompas.com in Depok, West Java.
Patrialis also affirmed that Artalyta was in the same cell at Tangerang penitentiary, Banten.
Artalyta was sentenced to four years in prison and did not receive a
remission after she violated rules by obtaining a luxury cell through
bribes.
She was originally due to be released in mid-February 2011. — JP
