US Pacific Fleet Commander in town

US Pacific Fleet Commander Admiral M Patrick arrived in Jakarta on Monday morning for a two-day visit to the country.

Upon his arrival at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Patrick had a closed meeting with Indonesian Military Commander Agus Suhartono.

Patrick is also scheduled to make an honorary visit to the Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Soeparno, navy spokesman Iskandar Sitompul told Antara on Monday.

Iskandar said the discussions would focus on the evaluation of the good bilateral cooperation in military operations and defense. They would also discuss efforts to improve future cooperation along with the development of the regional strategic environment.

The US Pacific Feet Commander has been working to develop cooperation with several countries in the Asia Pacific region, including Indonesia, based on mutual understanding and trust.
