The National Police says it is committed to enhancing its investigations of graft defendant Gayus Tambunan in accordance with recent instructions issued by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
“We are going to improve our investigations in some cases that we’re working on, and bring them to trial,” National Police chief Gen. Timur Pradopo said Wednesday, as quoted by kompas.com.
When asked to elaborate, Timur said the police would be more open to the public in their investigations of the Gayus case.
Regarding reports on the involvement of two high-ranked officers, Brig. Gen. Edmon Ilyas and Brig. Gen. Raja Erizman, who allegedly accepted bribes from Gayus, Timur declined to comment.
“Let’s wait and see,” he said.
