House Law Commission legislator Achmad Yani says among those who have been scheduled to be questioned by the House joint working committee in relation to the tax fraud case was former National Police chief Gen. (ret) Bambang Hendarso Danuri.

“Bambang Hendarso has a lot to say regarding this matter. I greatly expect that he will be open on this, especially now that he is no longer in the corps,” Achmad Yani told reporters on Thursday.

He said at the beginning of the investigation that Bambang had boasted he had formed four different teams to tackle each allegation made by Gayus H. Tambunan. But up to this date, he added, even he was still in the dark about the results of the teams’ investigation.

Besides Bambang, he said, of course the current National Police Chief Gen. Timur Pradopo was also on the list. He said Timur owed the people much, especially because he had promised to do the best he could to unveil the whole case.

“Unveiling the whole case is exactly what the police have failed to do to this date. Thus, we need to ask Timur how that has been possible,” he said.
