Boediono ready to supervise Gayus’ case

Vice President Boediono says he is ready to be a supervisor in resolving the case of graft convict Gayus H. Tambunan, as President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had instructed.

“In the Cabinet meeting yesterday, I was asked to coordinate [with the institutions] to solve this case,” Boediono said during his journey to Bangka Island from Palembang on Saturday.

As quoted by kompas.com news portal, Boediono said that there would be no serious obstacles in resolving the case, as long as the institutions followed the President's instructions.

“If we find matters of complication, we will report them to the President,” he said.

Yudhoyono recently instructed Boediono to watch over an inter-ministerial team responsible for resolving the Gayus tax graft case.

However, the appointment drew many critics who said that although Boediono was intelligent, honest and clean, and a hard worker, he did not have their confidence..
