8.7m plants prepared for reforestation

The Bali administration has prepared 8.7 million saplings to support its reforestation program in 2011, a senior official said Saturday.
“There are 18 different species of plants, including those used in local religious ceremonies, such as candlenut,majegau, magnolia, caqui and sandalwood,” Bali documentation and publication chief Ketut Teneng said.
The Bali Forestry Agency acquired 377,000 of the plants, with the Forestry Ministry donating more than 7.2 million plants, while regional administrations pooled their resources to acquire 1.1 million plants. — JP
